Tree Pruning
Every cut, considered. Every tree, respected.
Overview
Improper pruning can cause lifelong damage. Our certified arborists work to ANSI A300 standards β corrective cuts for storied trees, structural pruning for young ones, and crown work that respects the tree's natural form.
Pruning is the most misunderstood service in the industry. A bad cut is permanent. We treat each branch as an architectural decision β weighing weight distribution, light, airflow, and the tree's response over the coming decades.
Our climbers are ISA-trained and tied into modern climbing systems. They move through the canopy without spurs (which wound the cambium) and make every cut at the proper collar, leaving the tree to seal cleanly.

What's included
Every job, completely.
- ANSI A300-compliant cuts at the proper collar
- Crown cleaning, thinning, and raising
- Structural pruning for young trees
- Deadwood and hazard reduction
- View, light, and clearance pruning
Our Process
Measured. Methodical. Documented.
Diagnose
Identify deadwood, structural defects, and pruning objectives with you.
Plan cuts
Mark and discuss significant cuts before they happen β no surprises.
Climb
Spur-less ascent. Each cut placed at the branch collar for clean closure.
Clean
Brush chipped on site, lawn cleared, gutters and roofs swept.
Frequently asked
Questions, answered.
When is the best time to prune?+
Most species prune best in late winter dormancy. Oaks should be avoided AprilβJuly to prevent oak wilt. We'll advise per species.
How much should be removed at once?+
ANSI standards recommend no more than 25% of live canopy per season. We almost always remove less.
Will pruning hurt my tree?+
Done correctly, no β it extends life. Done poorly, it can be terminal. The difference is the arborist.
